I work with a range of businesses providing advice and mentoring using the experience gained from founding and running two successful IT businesses over a 25 year period. I can help businesses to start and to grow.  At the other end of the cycle I can help businesses where the owner wishes to sell up. I can also help turn round businesses that are in financial or other difficulties.

 

Very often a client is looking to resolve a specific issue rather than for general advice. If this is the case I work with the client to establish exactly what the need is. I then use my network to find the right expert to satisfy that need. In these circumstance I do not charge the client for this part of my service, my earnings come from a proportion of the fees charged by the person who supplies the service.

Currently, amongst other activities, I am selling a haulage business; finding a manager for a German opera singer, and helping an inventor sell parking posts to China.

I am expert at establishing what the real requirements of a business are, and identifying the underlying causes of any problems.  I will then able to establish the best way of overcoming these and helping the company to grow, bringing in skills from appropriate specialists where needed.

I have owned and run his own businesses, so have detailed experience of all the most important elements of company management.  I understand the relative importance of revenue, profit and cash; and how to monitor and control all three.

There are two areas where I have specific skills:

  1. I am trained to help draft, evaluate and improve business plans designed for attracting funding, whether equity or debt.

  1. I am a Registered Advisor for Sellability Score. This is a service for people who might be interested in selling their business and would like an assessment of how attractive it would be to potential purchasers.
